News - Record number of entries for World Championships Splash 2001
|
With still about 2 weeks to go before the entry for the second WC Splash and the the Euro Cup Flash is closed, already 225 entries have been registered. On 1st June 2001 a total number of 186 Splashes and 39 Flashes had been registered, which is already 40 entries more than took part in last year’s event. At the closing date the organizing committee expects to have receive about 250 entries. Sailors from all over the world have enlisted for this great event which is to take place near Carnac from the 21st till 27th of July 2001. Roel Wester bv has made no fewer than 50 brand new WC-Splashes available, free of charge to foreign competitors. So far, entries from the follwing countries have been received: Belgium, Canada, Great Britain, Finland, France, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Singapore, Spain, USA, Sweden. This is an enormous success for both the Splash and the Flash. The two classes are currently growing extremely fast, nationally as well as internationally. This year more than 200 Splashes and Flashes will be delivered. The 1500th Splash was delivered on the 10th of May and the 1600th is expected on the 1st of July next.
