After Melges Performance Sailboats, the licensed Splash builder in the USA, held the presentation of the Splash for one of the biggest and major clubs there, we have been informed that they have not recommended the Byte or the boats built by Vanguard (Laser). The young sailors who tested those boats, selected the Splash.

They were almost unanimous in their choice, so the club had little difficulty in deciding. As a result of this test more than 20 Splashes were ordered from Melges and the club reported that 5 Californian helmsmen will take part in Worlds Carnac.

For the Splash this may be the breakthrough, because this club usually takes the lead in selecting new classes.
