Splash Flash News - Sensational growth of the Flash class

The rapid growth of the Flash class has caused the Sneekweek Committee to divide the Flash class into an A and a B-fleet during the next Sneekweek regatta. With more than 50 boats at every start the Committee can hardly guarantee good starts to which the sailors are entitled. They have come to this decision because of the rapid growth of the Flash class. After two years the Flash is already the seventh biggest class at the Sneekweek. So far, it has never occurred that a new fleet had to be split up because of the large number of starters. Judging by the number of Flash-sets and new Flashes ordered from Roel Wester BV, the class will grow again considerably this year. < Back >
