Flash sailor Sandra van der Meyden nominated
for the Conny van Rietschoten Troffee 2003!

On the 27th of November last year Sandra van der Meyden, now world champion Splash Sailing, was nominated for the Conny van Rietschoten Troffee 2003. The nomination was a result to the fact that she had been chosen as the winner in her category: Yought sailing/ windsurfing. In this category Nikki van Riel, Koen de koning en Wilco Stavenuiter were also joining. Sandra van der Meyden became World Champion Splash-sailing in The Netherlands in July 2003. During that World Championship 210 Splashes were racing during the 14 regattas. At the end Sandra van der Meyden, who is a member of the “Watersport vereniging aalsmeer”, became world champion with great distance (23pts) with the second place. She had joined three times earlier the World Championship but never ranked higher than the 38th place. Last year she succeeded and became number one. Unfortunately for Sandra van der Meyden the final winner of the Conny van Rietschoten Troffee became Piet van Nieuwenhuyzen. He was the winner of the category Sea-sailing.
