Splash Flash News - SPLASH gets ISAF INTERNATIONAL STATUS

Four years ago the Splash received “Recognized Class" status. In many countries the Splash is accepted as the boat to sail after the Optimist.

This is the reason that in the Netherlands, where the Splash was born, the Splash is now the largest youth dingy class. Regattas with an entry of more then 200 sailors is no exception. In other countries, like Belgium the Splash also has become one of the biggest youth classes and more and more Optimist sailors choose the Splash as a transit boat to the Olympic classes.

The class is growing worldwide due to hard working National Class Associations supported by the Splash International Class Association.

There are Splash fleets sailing in many countries including New Zealand, United Kingdom, Curacao Switzerland, Germany, Poland etc.

By gaining the recognition as International, the Splash Class will grow rapidly worldwide. Many more countries have been waiting for this status to appoint the Splash as a transit class.

It is thought that this status will help many more Splash Association get the necessary support from their National Authorities.
